Spacecraft represent the most pressing unmet need across the entire aerospace industry. As more launch vehicles come online and the cost to orbit decreases, more companies launching payloads to space continue to emerge.
For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles.
Apex manufactures these satellite buses at scale using a combination of software, vertical integration, and hardware that is designed for manufacturing. Our spacecraft enable the future of society: ranging from earth observation to communications and more.

Apex is seeking a highly motivated Accountant to assist in the categorization of expenses and revenue, managing accounts payable and receivable, supporting the month end close process, and helping to implement systems and processes that will support Apex as we continue to grow. You’llhave the opportunity to work ina dynamic, fastand high-growth environment.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-growth start-up, is detail-oriented, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Additionally, the candidate has demonstrated the ability to build scalable cross-functional relationships through systems and process implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper tags and timely payments
  • Support the month end close process.
  • Support preparation of the monthly reporting package and other executive dashboards.
  • Prepare documents supporting internal and external audits and ensure the successful completion of those audits.
  • Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes to support the growth of the Company.
  • Develop, maintain and improve internal controls which relate to assigned areas.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Persons status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience; Big 4 and/or aerospace.
  • Hardware industry experience is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with financial audit preparation is strongly preferred.
  • Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc); must be highly proficient in Excel.
  • Proven proficiency with NetSuite.
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; project management experience a plus, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 a year
