Description

Our Shanghai office is seeking an experienced and dedicated Research and Development Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing all local research and development activities, identifying and addressing gaps in existing systems, and ensuring the seamless operation and integration of AB's perception and driving functions, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and Lane Keep Assist (LKA).

This is a solo role that requires a dynamic individual with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will have a close and direct connection to AB's Tel Aviv-based Development teams.

Initially, this role will focus exclusively on technical leadership and will not involve people management. However, as the business expands, the role may evolve to include people management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a hands-on leader, managing all research and development (R&D) activities within the Shanghai office, including:
  • Signal processing and object tracking algorithms
  • Direction of data collection and neural networks training for AB's perception stack
  • Implement provided systems and identify gaps in their operation.
  • Identify and address undetected issues, optimizing functions such as cruise control, emergency brake assist (EBA), and lane-keeping assist.
  • Collaborate with the R&D site in Tel Aviv and other cross-functional teams (systems, software, integration) to drive project success.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in both English (Both oral and written) and Mandarin
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in C/C++ and Python.
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach to problem-solving and project management.
  • Experience in software development for automotive Systems on Chips (SoCs) is a strong advantage.
  • Expertise in Vision AI, Deep Learning, and Neural Networks is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Background in automotive software development and system integration.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
