Posted on Mar 23, 2024

HAIQU is a stealth Quantum Computing startup that builds enabling quantum software to run scalable applications on today’s noisy quantum hardware. Haiqu was founded by Stanford and the Weizmann Institute of Science alumni, graduated from a world-leading deep-tech accelerator (The Creative Destruction Lab) and is backed by some of Silicon Valley’s leading investors.

Haiqu’s Quantum Machine Learning team is looking for talented, driven interns to assist in the exploration of QML theory and practice. As an intern, you will contribute to projects around algorithm design, trainability and expressibility characterization and benchmarking in the context of Haiqu’s products. To this end, you will conduct theoretical algorithms research, prototyping and implementations using state-of-the-art quantum frameworks and hardware. You will be encouraged to participate in Haiqu research team activities such as talks and the Journal club, and will be offered scientific and technical support. Positions will last for 3-6 months with the potential of being converted into a full-time position.

Examples of internship projects include e.g. the influence of quantum error mitigation on the trainability of parametrized quantum circuits, the construction of shot-efficient block-commuting quantum circuits, and using classical ML for quantum circuit architecture optimisation.

Responsibilities:

- Research, design, and prototype quantum machine learning algorithms.

- Maintain and grow up-to-date knowledge of quantum machine algorithms and theory

- Produce high-quality production code and technical documentation
