EHS Manager
Description:

The EHS Manager will execute Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and healthy practices are maintained at ION. Tasks will include creation of reports, performing inspections, training, and counseling of best practices. The EHS Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager, ensuring clear communication and alignment with the organization's overall operational goals. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate health and safety practices and processes in accordance with ION Storage Systems Plans and Policies
Assure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
Maintain EHS permits and licenses
Monitor safety equipment inventory and order as needed
The role will require both day-to-day tasks and longer-term projects to be completed
Responsible for the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of multiple OSHA-required safety programs to ensure compliance with legal standards and ISS Policies
These include but are not limited to Emergency Action Plan EAP, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, and the Chemical Hygiene Plan
Perform monthly updates detailing findings and good/bad practices to entire company
Conduct safety audits of multiple laboratories, production areas, and office spaces to include the creation of a formal report and abatement tracking system
Ensure that accident/incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner to include collaboration with various departments and the implementation of corrective actions
Create EHS training programs as needed
Liaison with consultants and regulatory bodies in matters relating to EHS compliance
Manage new Chemical Inventory and ability to interpret safety data sheets
Manage ION's hazardous material handling and disposal program in accordance with Maryland Department of Environment regulations
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or related fields as well as a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing EHS role
Knowledge of federal, state, local regulations
Experience:
Required: 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing EHS role for chemical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing
Preferred: 3 or more years of working with Maryland environmental, health, and safety regulations
Required Skills:
Strong communication and diplomacy skills with all internal and external stakeholders.
Reliable and self-motivated
Strong auditing skills
Ability to author SOP's
Strong Time management skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Solid record keeping skills
