Your Opportunity to Drive Success
You will have an opportunity to impact our approach to solving the most interesting problems facing AV’s today, while operating live in the wild.
- Work with cross functional teams to develop software and system requirements
- Participate in team code quality activities including design and code reviews
- Develop and test state-of-the-art robotics software in C
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years demonstrated experience working on real-world robotic systems - in a lab, in industry, etc. - not just course study
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a field that requires a strong mathematical and/or engineering foundation (e.g. physics, aerospace engineering)
- Experience developing and deploying capabilities for robot perception, localization, behavior, path planning, and/or vehicle control
- Strong programming skills in C/C++
- Expertise with software development in a Linux environment
- Familiarity with standard development tools such as git, valgrind, and gdb
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (or other relevant field)
- 3+ years experience working on real-world robot systems
- Strong background demonstrated through high quality capability deliveries to robots working in the field in any of the following areas: perception, intent prediction, machine learning (applied to robotic problems), behavior development, planning, optimization, sensor processing and fusion, and vehicle control.
Desired Qualifications
- Masters or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a field that requires a strong mathematical and/or engineering foundation (e.g. physics, aerospace engineering)
- Strong background in one of the robotics controls areas discussed above as demonstrated by developing and delivering to fielded robots multiple capabilities that solve critical problems in controls and motion planning
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support more junior engineers in learning and contributing to robotics development and testing
- Strong programming skills in C, software development in a Linux environment
- Familiarity with standard development tools such as git, valgrind, and gdb

The expected base salary range for this full-time position is $152,000 - $190,000 per year. May’s pay ranges are determined by the role, level, and location. Successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including but not limited to- job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. A successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, equity compensation, and generous company benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
