Orbital Materials develops advanced materials and chemical processes by bridging the worlds of AI, synthetic chemistry, and chemical engineering. We are hiring a full time chemistry researcher to work onsite in our newly built laboratory just outside of Princeton, NJ.

About the Role

Your duties will include:

• Synthesis, characterization, and application testing of porous materials such as zeolites and MOFs

• Work with our multidisciplinary teams (including computational chemists, machine learning researchers, and chemical engineers) to design and synthesize new materials

• Evaluate potential applications for advanced functional materials

• Analyze data and present results both internally and externally to partners

Qualities that we are looking for include:

• PhD or post-doc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science with focus on zeolites, MOFs, porous polymers or other classes of adsorbents

• Experience in porous materials or polymer synthesis

• Experience in adsorbent characterization and testing such as PXRD, TGA, BET, SEM

• Experience evaluating materials for gas separation applications or catalysis such as dynamic breakthrough testing

• Demonstrated ability to independently high-impact results in materials chemistry
