Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop test approaches & rigs in sync with physical and functional design of mechanical components.
  2. Lead capability to simulate functions and failures in rig and lab environment with their function, reliability and durability understanding.
  3. Bring in benchmarking and customer application driven test capability in a lab environment.
  4. Ability to converge virtual simulation, design and customer application driven physics in a lab environment.
  5. Develop a risk-based test strategy, plan test procedures and author test cases based on PRD, Field Failures and DFMEA documents.
  6. Develop and Maintain Validation Test Plan for complete two wheeler systems including chassis, suspension, brakes and transmission etc.
  7. To prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, component owners, product and quality assurance to define test plans and acceptance criteria.
  9. Lead teams to Identify sensors, actuators, vendors and data acquisition systems relevant to each of the functional components and integrate them in the lab capability.

Ideal Candidate

  1. Overall 12 to 18 years of experience in the validation/testing environment of 2 wheeler or automotive systems.
  2. Demonstrated experience in developing detailed validation plans & reports based on functional and regulatory requirements.
  3. Detailed design and functional understanding of critical two wheeler components : Brakes, Suspension, Chassis, Steering.
  4. Know best engineering practices and associated design evaluation methods of above mentioned components and systems.
  5. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  6. Knowledge of testing and failure detection/identification.
  7. Understanding of Fatigue, vibration and wear driven failure modes and associated underlying physics.
  8. DFMEA, DFR and Process FMEA understanding to define critical test cases and boundary conditions.
  9. Develop test setups, select instrumentation, and ensure accurate data acquisition required for hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical test systems.
  10. Document and develop test rigs while working with SPM manufacturers.
  11. Ability to identify infrastructural requirements for test equipment and associated systems.
