The top line

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience who is still enthusiastic about hands-on work. The primary responsibility will be developing, extending, and maintaining the UI and frontend for our spatially aware products, ensuring seamless user interaction with real-time data insights. As the team grows, you will also be responsible for line-managing 1-2 engineers.

As a Lead Frontend Engineer at Slamcore, you will develop intuitive and dynamic interfaces, directly contributing to our mission of creating superior products. You will spearhead the development of frontend interfaces and analytical tools to enhance decision-making processes within B2B environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate frontend solutions into Slamcore's products.

The day-to-day

  • Design, develop, extend and maintain high quality and scalable Frontend and UI for spatially-aware applications.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into polished interfaces for internal and client-facing projects.
  • Collaborate with product management to define roadmaps and align technical strategies with business goals.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other team members to integrate frontend components with backend logic, ensuring a cohesive and holistic product vision.
  • Support the commercial team by enhancing user interfaces that demonstrate Slamcore's technology capabilities to potential clients.
  • Strategically plan and implement resource allocations to optimise engineering efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and industry trends, continuously seeking out new technologies and methodologies that can enhance our products and align with our vision of pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

The must-haves

  • Proven experience as a frontend engineer with a strong portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of user interface design principles and user experience best practices.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, databases.
  • Excellent communication skills, decision-making abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Passion for innovation and high-quality solutions.
  • Experience developing in a virtualized Linux environment comfortably.
  • Experience programming in Python or other programming languages.
  • Confidently able and willing to show initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable and passionate about working in a dynamic and agile, startup environment.

The nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Progressive Web Applications, Web Components, SVG, ThreeJS, real time WebSockets/Server-Side Events, JavaScript/DOM performance is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering teams and projects.
  • Experience using work management tools such as Jira.
  • Experience in Computer Vision, Robotics, or Autonomous Driving is a plus.
  • Previous startup experience is desirable.
