Marketing Manager
Third Wave Automation
Company Description
Third Wave Automation is a rapidly growing startup that has demonstrated its core technology components, proven its market fit, and just closed its Series C funding. If you are excited about cutting edge machine learning, robotics that affects the real world, and want to join a company where your skills can have a huge impact, you’ll fit right in.
Third Wave Automation is applying modern machine learning to materials handling—delivering site-specific forklift navigation and infrastructure-free pallet handling that continuously adapts to changing floor configuration and warehouse demand.
Job Description
We’re looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to help build the foundation for a high-performing demand generation engine. This is a tactical, execution-focused role for someone who’s excited to experiment across channels, figure out what works, and help us scale.
You’ll run digital ad campaigns (especially Google Ads), coordinate content creation and distribution, and execute targeted events and campaigns — all with the goal of generating qualified inbound leads. You’ll report directly to the VP of Strategy and work closely with sales, with occasional collaboration with product and customer success.
This is a builder role. You’ll help us test different marketing motions, generate early results, and shape where we invest next. As we find traction, we’ll bring in contractors, agencies, or additional hires to scale what’s working, and your input will guide that evolution.
How You Can Make an Impact
- Launch and optimize digital ad campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, LinkedIn)
- Coordinate content programs (emails, blog posts, landing pages, case studies, etc.)
- Support event and field marketing experiments (tradeshows, webinars, etc.)
- Use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to accelerate writing, research, and content workflows
- Own marketing spend across channels, starting small and scaling as ROI becomes clear
- Track and report on performance across campaigns, especially cost per lead and pipeline contribution
- Collaborate closely with sales to align on ICP, messaging, and lead follow-up
- Work with occasional contractors (e.g., for design or web projects) as needed
Desired Qualifications
- 4–6 years of B2B marketing experience with a focus on digital demand generation
- Proven ability to set up, tune, and scale paid acquisition campaigns
- Experience generating leads through at least one of: content marketing, tradeshows, or media strategy
- Strong writing and communication skills — able to turn technical concepts into clear messaging
- Comfort using generative AI to complement content creation and campaign work
- Experience in a fast-moving startup or high-growth environment, ideally venture-backed
- Location: San Francisco Bay Area (2 days/week in Union City, CA office)
How You Can Make an Impact
- Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM/marketing automation platforms
- Familiarity with marketing analytics, attribution, and funnel reporting
- Exposure to industrial verticals
The pay range for this position is $105,000 - $175,000/yr + benefits + equity; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information based on market location.
