The role:
We launched on home turf in Australia in June 2025 and have now had a few months to test, learn and experiment in-market. Now we’re ready to grow and we need a gun who can help get an entirely new type of food onto thousands of plates across Sydney. There’s a chance you’ll travel elsewhere in Australia to support mission-critical accounts, but we’re primarily looking for someone who can help us take over our home streets here in NSW.
You’ll be responsible for introducing our revolutionary new products to partners right here. We’ve already served >80,000 customers in Singapore, and we believe we have the right playbook to now scale our first brand, Forged, much more intentionally in Sydney. You’ll lead business development and partnerships across a range of channels, everything from your neighbourhood deli, to hatted restaurants, premium chains, caterers, meal kits, airlines and hotels.
You’ll take responsibility for representing Forged to all new partners in Sydney, generating new leads, converting sizable accounts at speed, and leveraging our suite of new food products (or helping propose ones not yet in existence) to deliver value to both prospective and existing customers.
The experience/skills you will bring:
Proven sales and business-development leader with a track record of rapidly scaling products or brands in-market.
Strong food & beverage industry experience, ideally with existing relationships across restaurants, distributors, and hospitality networks.
Comfortable initiating contact and selling proactively, whether through cold calling, in-person visits, or opportunistic conversations.
Commercially astute and metrics-driven, balancing top-line growth with margin and customer value.
Excellent storyteller and relationship builder, able to inspire enthusiasm for new food technologies and drive adoption.
Hands-on, action-oriented operator who thrives in the field and embraces a high-energy, entrepreneurial approach.
Experience in startups, scale-ups, or very fast-paced FMCG; adaptable, self-sufficient, and confident operating in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
Analytical and deeply customer-focused, translating in-market feedback into actionable commercial and product decisions.
You will:
Lead market expansion of Forged in Sydney, owning the full sales cycle, from lead generation and outreach to deal closure and long-term account growth.
Secure and grow partnerships across diverse food channels, from local delis and hatted restaurants to premium hospitality, catering, and retail groups.
Develop and deliver data-driven sales forecasts, achieving ambitious volume and revenue targets.
Build and nurture strong relationships, ensuring accounts are excited, engaged and continuously ordering.
Actively seek out new business opportunities, from cold calls and walk-ins to spontaneous, in-the-moment sales conversations.
Collaborate with product and manufacturing teams to align market demand with production capacity, influence product development, and manage forecasts.
