About BurnBot

BurnBot provides systematic fuels treatment services to prevent destructive wildfires. We're firefighters, scientists, engineers, prescribed fire practitioners, ecologists, and community members who are answering the call to scale fuel treatment capacity. Our modern fuel treatment system recognizes and supports conservation efforts with a clean, smoke-free process. We need technology to amplify our workforces with targeted use of synthetic fire to treat fuel loads 10x faster than previously possible.

The Role

BurnBot is seeking a Project Manager to join our rapidly growing Field Operations team. This role will be responsible for managing, planning, coordinating activities of projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished on time and on budget. The ideal project manager will successfully lead multiple projects, have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients or business partners. This role is both a field and hub (workshop) based.

This position is an exempt role with an annual salary range of $115,000-$125,000. However, we do consider many factors when creating job offers, including (but not limited to), the role, location, responsibilities, experience, training, education, and skillset.

Required Skills

  • Oversee and supervise various field projects and support field operations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Conduct safety inspections and implement Company Safety Program and training.
  • Comply with all federal, state, local and company policy and regulations; safety or otherwise.
  • Manage material, equipment logistics and project inventory.
  • Act as the liaison between project foreman, sub-contractors, clients and company leadership; including, but not limited to meeting with clients and stakeholders to review and explain project cost, extra expense and change orders.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers, database and reporting tools.
  • Review contracts and bids to determine and maintain project margin.
  • Provide leadership to direct or indirect reports to ensure project assignments are delivered on time to company standards and client satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot problems, both in office and on the jobsite, with the ability to identify potential deficiencies before issues arise.
  • Strong bias for action and the ability to execute assigned tasks with or without guidance.
  • Can adapt to a fast changing environment and work priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in project or field management in Forestry, wildland firefighting and/or prescribed fire fields.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Utilize personal knowledge to resolve issues and ability to discern when to seek assistance for efficient, effective resolutions.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Including listening, responding and assisting with a positive, of service mindset.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Physical ability to lift/push/pull weights of up to 100 lbs with regularity.
  • Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach, grasp and climb various surfaces and heights for 8+ hours per day.
